Dr Lee Su Kim is a cultural activist .

Educator: Formerly Associate Professor, English Language Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she lectured and researched for more than 30 years. Research areas of language, culture and identity with more than 30 articles and chapters. Her Doctorate analyses the multiple identities of Malaysian women and the role of language in both sharing and masking who one is, within complex multicultural settings. Su Kim speaks five languages all used in Malaysia and often codeswitches in everyday life. She has presented throughout Asia, Australia and in Britain, Italy and the United States.

Cultural activist: Founding member and the Founding President of the Peranakan Baba Nyonya Association of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor (PPBNKLS) and ongoing. Ted X talk on Peranakan culture has over 60 000 views. Su Kim assisted with organising the Governor General of New Zealand’s visit to Melaka in 2024 and is active in community events. Su Kim has been interviewed on national radio, television, for the press and featured in numerous international webinars.
